Latino Memphis recognized Raul Yzaguirre and Beverly Robertson, Executive Director - National Civil Rights Museum, as recipients of the Alma Latina Awards at the 8th Annual Noche de Gala in Memphis on October 19, 2007.  Past Executive Director of the organization, José A. Velázquez, was also recognized for his contributions to the Hispanic community.  Latino Memphis is dedicated to building a stronger Memphis and Mid-South by working for the well-being, education, health, and development of the 100,000-strong Latino community.
