"Past, Present & Future" - The civic engagement programs are on ongoing series of seminars to help existing leaders and to develop individuals as leaders who cross political, business, and civic boundaries to transform the community, state, country, and world.

Fall 2009 -- Rev. Al Sharpton
Save the Date for the sixth installment of the Civil Rights Forum. This Fall's Forum will feature the Rev. Al Sharpton. Joining Rev. Sharpton on the dialogue panel will be Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, and ASU Presidential Professor of Practice, Mr. Raul Yzaguirre. More Info coming soon.
Spring 2009 -- John Echohawk
The Spring 2009 Civil Rights Forum will take place Friday, April 3rd and will feature Native American Rights Fund Executive Director, John Echohawk. This Spring's Forum panel will be moderated by KAET Horizonte host, Jose Cardenas and will include Dr Peterson Zah, Dr Michael Niles, and Raul Yzaguirre. The Forum will take place at 2:00PM (open seating begins at 1:30) at the downtown Phoenix ASU campus, 411 N Central Ave, in the main lobby.
Spring 2008 -- Juan Williams
Juan Williams is one of America's leading political writers and thinkers. He is the senior correspondent for NPR, a political analyst for Fox Television, and a regular panelist for FoxNews Sunday. In addition to prize-winning columns and editorial writing for The Washington Post, he has also authored six books.
Fall 2007 -- Linda Chavez
Linda Chavez, columnist, author and chairman of the Center for Equal Opportunity, a non-profit public policy research organization Ms. Chavez presented a conservative point of view of American politics and policies in her interaction with the University community and the community at large. Spring 2007 -- Marc Morial
Marc Morial, President and CEO of National Urban League Mr. Morial addressed students and faculty on the topic of civil rights--past, present, and future--and met with community leaders and future leaders for conversation.Civil Rights Forum - Spring 2007
Spring 2006 -- "Walkout"
Raul Yzaguirre and host--actor and director Edward James Olmos--screen the HBO film bases on the 1960s activist experiences of Chicano movement leader and the film's executive producer, Moctesuma Esparza, followed by a public reception.
